Some of you all may already have heard I’m having a show of my work this summer. It’s going to be at the Eclipse Mill Gallery, out in the beautiful Berkshires, from August 8th through September 20th. Little did I imagine, when I first signed on to the project, what a lot has to go into preparing it. How to pick images? How big should they be? Where should we get the frames? Should we use no-glare or regular glass, or should it be plexi? And how much will all this cost? All kinds of questions had to be addressed!
Gallery owner Ralph Brill and I came up with several categories of image types, and over time we edited and adjusted the list of images that were “in” and others that were “out.” I found the easiest way was to make small prints of the image and shuffle them around. Here we are doing just that.
As it happens, we already own a number of large frames with mattes. Some of the decisions had to be about which images to put into existing frames, and which ones needed new frames. Our total is going to be 50, or close to that.
We’ll be back later with a progress report. Thanks.
